Guldagergaard will be building a Fast-Fire Wood kiln with Fred Olsen (USA)
This cleaner and more efficient type of wood kiln will reach cone 10 in ca 6 hours – being one of Fred Olsen’s latest and most economical designs.
Fred Olsen is a well-known kiln builder who has equally been active artistically for over 40 years. He often demonstrates kiln building at conferences and workshops around the world and is generally regarded as the authority on kilns. He sells his own designed kiln kits to potters everywhere and is also the author of “The Kiln Book” (first published in 1973). Has built 2 kilns in Guldagergaard’s kiln yard.
Assisting Fred Olsen will be Andres Allik: an Estonian kiln master who is building wood-fire kilns all over the world, he’s also been part of multiple fire sculpture events in the USA and Europe, building and designing the kilns around sculptures. He has built 3 wood and gas kilns in Guldagergaard’s kiln yard and sells his own designed electric kilns and furniture through his company.

Gulddagergaard offers participation in this one week long workshop for:
2500 DKK
(studentprice: 2250 DKK)
Price includes:
- learning to build the new economical wood kiln from one of the most highly recognized kiln builders
- 1-2 firings = Please bring bisque ware!
Price does not include accommodation. There are a few beds in shared rooms available in the house at Guldagergaard’s that we offer for a reduced price for the time of the workshop.

250 DKK
Or accommodation can be arranged by yourself and Guldagergaard can recommend accommodation nearby.
