WHEEL THROWING WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS
17-18 June
This Workshop is suitable for those who wish to learn about wheel throwing techniques from scratch or strengthen their beginner’s skills.
We are inviting all artists that would like to learn a new ceramic technique and experience clay meditation during a relaxing two-day Workshop.
About teacher:
Oliver has been working with clay for the past 8 years, over this time he has picked up many skill sets, his main focuses are in throwing and glazing, during his masters at The Royal College of Art in London he was developing his own glazes and creating large sculptural wall pieces, after being influenced by satellite images around the world. He has been captivated through glaze chemistry and still learning his own firing techniques. Now as a woodfired technician he begins to develop new reduction glazes and methods of firing.
Schedule of the Workshop:
1st day:
10:00 – 10:30 – introduction and demonstration
10:30 – 12:30 – intensive throwing with support of teacher
12:30 – 13:30 – lunch break
13:30 – 16:30 – intensive throwing with support of teacher
16:30 – 17:00 – clean up
2nd day:
10:00 – 10:30 – demonstration
10:30 – 12:30 – learning trimming skills and making handles
12:30 – 13:30 – lunch break
13:30 – 16:30 – intensive training
16:30 – 17:00 – clean up, end of Workshop
Price:
2200 DKK (incl tax)
We provide:
2 days of intensive training with our teacher who is professional artist
30 kg of clay

We are providing lunch (sandwiches). You will have access to a kettle, coffee and tea, and dining area.
Accommodation:
We don’t provide accommodation due to Covid-19, but we are happy to recommend reliable accommodation nearby.
Covid-19 precautions:
All participants are asked to take a Covid-19 test before arrival to Guldagergaard, which means that only participants with a negative result are allowed to work at the center.
You are asked to wear a facemask during the Workshop.
Our Staff is regularly tested, as well as wearing facemasks for additional safety.
All areas of the Studio are cleaned and disinfected every day.
